Just a heads up, Doba will be operating a booth at this year's Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition in Chicago from June 4th through June 7th and we'd love to see you there, we'll be at booth #1707.
Rupesh Sanghavi has been selling online for nearly 10 years, but it’s the last year-and-a- half that really caught our attention. You see, Rupesh is the founder and CEO of an online retailing enterprise that has hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise sourced and drop-shipped from Doba just last year. At last count, this Über Doba-affiliated merchant (active with us since August 2008) has more than 60 employees working for him in three countries, including the U.S. and India.
The proportion of online retail purchases to purchases from brick-and-mortar stores is increasing every day. Mobile purchases now constitute a significant percentage of online transactions. We've put together this infographic to highlight current trends in online shopping. What are you doing in your business to take advantage?
Our featured retailer this week is Kelan Kline (EpicBuyz on eBay), a young man whose parents told him he needed to get a job when he was 14 years old. He did just that, grabbing up stuff around the house and selling it on eBay. After emptying the household of everything that wasn’t nailed down, Kelan says he needed to find other items to sell and that’s when he developed an interest in working with suppliers and manufacturers who drop ship.
Anyone that’s been keeping an eye on the current happenings of the Facebook commerce arena will tell you that there’s been some major shakeups recently amongst the key players as Ecwid (the largest provider of Facebook stores), absorbed their top competitor, Payvment, as well as Payvment’s customer base. For Doba retailers, it’s a great time to learn how to sell products on Facebook, and how our software integrates with Ecwid to make the process simple.
Big or small, every retailer has at least one challenge in common: they all want to pay as little as possible for their merchandise. For thousands of years, retailers have been asking their suppliers “So how much will this product cost and how can I get it for less?” Whether you're a stay-at-home mom selling on eBay or a massive multinational entity like Amazon, keeping costs down can spell the difference between big bucks and bankruptcy.
Doba has been aggregating, categorizing, and standardizing drop ship inventory from suppliers and wholesalers who are willing to drop ship for over 10 years. We have made many improvements to the retailer’s interface to this virtual catalog to help online retailers easily narrow our database of 1.5 million SKUs to just the products that are relevant to their selling strategy online.
Dropshipping returns policies can be a hassle for any retailer doing business through a third-party fulfillment method. This is our view on the issue and recommendations we have for retailers to alleviate any headaches dropshipping returns policies can cause.
Doba has long had a mutually beneficial relationship with ProStores, the eBay company that helps small- and medium-sized businesses sell their products and services online. Basically, ProStores provides merchants everything they need to set up, design, and manage a customizable virtual storefront at their own Internet domain, and Doba provides those very same merchants with easy access to the 1.74 million SKUs in our product catalog, all of which can be drop-shipped by our affiliated suppliers to ProStores’ end customer/buyer.
